Whether you are here for a day or a week, Peterborough and the Monadnock region have plenty to offer.

Dining is one of many highlights in the region. From hearty New England breakfasts to an elegant evening meal, you can find it all right here. Browse the web, check through the dining information in your room or ask our helpful staff to direct you to their favorites - you can't go wrong!

Peterborough boasts a rich arts community. You'll find the renowned Peterborough Players theatre company performing in their recently renovated New England Barn each summer and fall. During the winter the barn hosts a fantastic variety of musical artists brought to you by the Peterborough Folk Music Society. The Monadnock Music Summer Festival presents free and ticketed performances throughout the region. A variety of art forms are displayed in several galleries around town, some even offer you the opportunity to participate in classes. Authors and artists gather and live in the famous MacDowell Colony, which hosts the annual Medal Day celebrations for residents and visitors in August. Antiques abound, independent bookstore offer unique finds, and the Mariposa Museum downtown offers a glimpse of world culture and events.

Step outside your room to experience the sound of one of New Hampshire's many rivers rushing by. It's always a good idea to include golf outings at one of the Greater Peterborough area golf courses during your stay. To expand your outdoor experience you might plan a hike on the most climbed mountain in the United States, Mount Monadnock. Although Monadnock stands alone, there are many other hiking and outdoor opportunities throughout the region. An afternoon along the Wapack trail or a leisurely stroll through the Sheiling Forest right around the corner may better fit your schedule. Prefer paddling, fishing or swimming? The scenic lakes, rivers and streams offer a chance for all three. In the winter you can downhill ski, cross-country ski and snowmobile. Our local Eastern Mountain Sports retail store offers gear, rentals, instruction and information.

Our staff will happily help you with your specific plans.
